The Consent Lab
The Consent Lab uses a visual arts practice called data drawing, to help people reflect on their experiences and attitudes around sexual consent.
The Lab combines the most up-to-date consent research with new neuroscience research on the value of creativity for trauma recovery and left-brain learning.
This is the first consent education resource of its kind, and has produced outstanding, measurable student outcomes.
Dr Rebecca Saunders created The Consent Labs, with funding from GW4.
Now, she is working with international creative director Stefanie Posavec, to build a Consent Curriculum for the whole Higher Education sector.
This work is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
1 out of every 3 adults in the UK has been sexually assaulted or raped.*
This rises to 1 out of every 2 people at UK universities, with women and queer students most affected.*
The Consent Labs seek to address this, working with university students across the UK to produce a step-change in consent education.
*These statistics are based on UK data available at Rape Crisis and the Office for Students.
